FOOD VISHITA Takashimaya

The last I remembered of this place was a wondrous one, until today. Had cravings for korean fix for lunch and went to Togi. But what’s delivered was pale in comparison from what’s advertised. The meat were grilled till they were dry and hard, marinated as if salt and pepper were free and nutritious. I had to blanch my meat in the soup before they were consumable. Service was fine, but perhaps I sat myself next to a noisy pair, communication had to be done with raised voice.

During my recent visit to Takashimaya, I tested the newly launched LiXin FishBall Noodles. It is worth mentioning that this was the nearest outlet to me since the Ion Food Court location. The pricing information is available in one of the accompanying photos, and it's worth noting that a bowl of fishball noodles has approached $10, which provides consumers with several other options to consider. These visits are part of my interest in designing shopping mall tenant mixes, retail consulting, and understanding consumer behaviour. The corporatization and launching of Hawker Stall chain stores, such as LiXin, have been a rare success story. I am optimistic that more similar businesses will follow in their footsteps. This method of scaling up is akin to listing for hawkers. Although the scaling-up process may result in a slight decline in quality standards, as was the case with Chef Chan's chicken rice, it is important to be realistic and acknowledge that scaling up is not easy in a small, fragmented country like Singapore. Excellent job! It is heartening to witness the gradual progress of small and medium enterprises towards expanding their businesses, and I take pride in observing more of them embarking on the journey of creating a robust brand identity. #andrewtanatomisingapore #theatomiway

Spacious food court with good variety of food. Especially recommend the pork belly set by Togi Korean Food which costs $13.50. It comes with rice, lettuce and side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, garlic and chilli paste). The pork belly is not marinated and tastes super delicious! It is very comparable to other Korean restaurants and the price is very reasonable and affordable as well!

Got the Hot & Spicy Noodle. The soup was slightly numbing and spicy but lacking depth. Noodles were al dente. Meat-wise there were only a few pieces of meat. The ratio of noodles to ingredients was quite off. It was mostly noodles. Good for people who love eating noodles. Overall a little disappointed. $7.20 for a bowl of noodles with very little ingredients.
